This week at DAV Public School, Chandrasekharpur was marked by impactful awareness programmes designed to nurture emotional resilience and promote digital safety among students.

On 6 December 2025, the school organised a Mental Health Awareness Programme for students of Classes IX and XI in the Activity Hall of Campus I. The session featured Dr. Pallavi Preetinanda (MBBS, MD Psychiatry) — Author, Filmmaker, and renowned mental health advocate — as the Guest Speaker.

Dr. Pallavi emphasised the importance of emotional well-being, early recognition of stress, and building resilience in adolescents. She shared simple and practical strategies to manage academic pressure and maintain balance in everyday life. Students interacted enthusiastically, asking thoughtful questions and reflecting deeply on the discussion. The session proved to be insightful, motivating, and highly beneficial in helping students understand the significance of prioritising mental health. The programme concluded with a formal vote of thanks.

The focus on student well-being continued with a Cyber Awareness Programme conducted by the Commissionerate of Police on 11 December 2025 for the same classes. ACP Akshay Kumar Nayak, Cyber Crime Police Station, addressed the rapid rise in cybercrimes and highlighted the crucial role of young citizens in promoting safe online practices.
Through real-life case studies and live demonstrations, students learned about:

• recognising suspicious files and links
• identifying social-media scams
• ensuring safe digital transactions
• securing personal devices

Interactive hands-on activities helped students identify phishing attempts and understand common digital risks. The programme was informative, engaging, and left a lasting impact on the participants.

Both initiatives reaffirmed the school’s commitment to fostering holistic development, focusing on not just academic excellence but also emotional and digital well-being.
