This week at DAV Public School, Chandrasekharpur was filled with excitement, inspiration, and pride as the school played host to prominent faces from the Odia film industry and celebrated the creative achievements of its talented students.

In a truly enriching cultural exchange, the cast and crew of the Odia movie ANANTA—a cinematic adaptation of a story by legendary writer Vyasa Kabi Fakir Mohan Senapati—visited the school for a special interaction session. The team included Co-Director and alumnus Kumar C. Dev Mohapatra, along with lead actors Sabyasachi, Suryamayee, and Jyotirmayee, who engaged in a thought-provoking conversation with over 300 students.

Prior to the interaction, these students had the exclusive opportunity to watch ANANTA at a city theatre, in a show organized especially by the school. The visit was graced by Regional Director of DAV Institutions, Odisha, Dr. K.C. Satapathy and Madam Basanta Manjari Satapathy, who emphasized the importance of preserving and promoting Odia art, literature, and cultural identity through value-based cinema.

Dr. Satapathy spoke about the relevance of the film's protagonist, Ananta, and its powerful message of societal responsibility and introspection. The students were thrilled to meet the stars in person, capturing selfies, collecting autographs, and creating memories they will cherish for a long time. The guests later felicitated the film team in a heartfelt gesture of appreciation.

Adding to the celebratory spirit, Shreyashi Behura of Class 9 made the school proud by securing 3rd Prize in a state-level painting competition, receiving the award from none other than the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Odisha. The event was held on the occasion of 76th Van Mahotsav 2025, organized by the Regional Science Centre, Bhubaneswar. Shreyashi’s achievement is a shining example of how DAV CSPur continues to foster creativity and environmental awareness in young minds.
